Serena Williams dropped just one match as she blew away China’s Wang Qiang 6-1 6-0 at the US Open quarter-finals.
This was Williams’ 100th victory at the US Open, also at 45 minutes that the quickest at this season’s tournament.
Williams was not bothered by the perfect ankle as she powered past Qiang she wrapped in her previous game.
Williams won the first five matches in approximately 15 minutes. Then, after falling one game, the 37-year-old collected the following 11 points in a row and each game.
Williams finished with 25 champions to zero to get Wang, who played in her first, and will face No 5 seed Elina Svitolina for a berth in the past.
“From when I first started here… I never thought that I would get to 100,” Williams said of her victory milestone.
“did not even cross my mind I would still be out here. However, I love everything I do.”
The American reported the ankle she rolled during her fourth-round match was not an issue:”Physically, I’m feeling fantastic, and more than anything else I am having fun each time I come out here.”
